Here's how it works: export your vCard from your Mac's Address Book, MS Outlook, or any other contact management or email software. Next, throw it at the internet in strategic places. Your email signature, Linkedin, and a link to download on your personal page are a start.
You can also let LinkedIn do the work of creating a vCard, an option in your edit profile page.
Another way to keep contact is to utilize HTML5 and the hCard microformat. I created mine using this little web app. The benefit of the hCard microformat isn't all that great, for the moment, but if you want your name to be searched easily (for example, as a freelancer or small business), go ahead and play around with hCard.
